Key Responsibilities

Procurement and Suppliers Management  

  1. Responsible to source, negotiate and purchase materials from both local and oversea vendors. Continuous price/terms negotiations, sourcing better suppliers to assist in developing robust supplier’s portfolio and delivering savings for SSTCM.
  2. Evaluate vendor’s quotation to ensure that they are in line with the technical and commercial specifications required. Prepare proposal for approval and issuance of purchase orders/ work orders. Assist Procurement Manager to prepare and review contracts, proposals, suppliers agreements; for legal correctness, cost effectiveness an acceptability of term and conditions.
  3. Advise internal and external on issues regarding purchasing Terms & Conditions.
  4. In charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and following up on Purchase Orders delivery and shipment schedules. Ensure materials/services received in good order/in full.
  5. Resolve supply, quality, service and invoicing issues with vendors.
  6. Assist in ISO Annual Performance Review for vendors.
  7. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time & best prices and ensure all the criteria are met according to the organizational requirements and expectation.
  8. Manage documentation & records in ERP (Epicor) system and procurement database.
  9. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  10. Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and experience, and propose control measures.
  11. Contribute to development and implementation of better/advanced system/softwares/etc, eg. (automated) GRN/invoice validation, management of KPIs, up to date suppliers & quotes database, etc.
  12. Align work goals and objectives to the Company’s strategic objectives. Liase with other departments – Production/ Warehouse/ Planner/lab/etc.
  13. To perform any other duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.

Coordinate & Assist in Managing the Logistics

  1. Monitor deliveries, assist in managing and control cost of the deliveries / logistics of import and local deliveries.
  2. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce logistics cost and improve effectiveness (fast and in good order).

Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)

  1. Responsible to comply and co-operate on company HSSE instruction, rules and regulations.

Disposal Management

  1. Responsible for sourcing and engaging services providers to determine the best course of action needed for the operation of the business.
  2. Evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and making purchasing decisions based on the company’s needs and budget.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; candidates with 2–3 years of procurement or purchasing experience in Manufacturing/Chemicals industry are preferred.
  • Possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform procurement activities effectively, including supplier coordination, purchasing processes, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement outcomes.
  • Resourceful, self-driven, proactive and independent worker.
  • Excellent communications and negotiation skills with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office Applications (Words, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.). Familiarity with SQL/ SAP/ ERP systems or procurement software is an added advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities within deadline.
  • Willingness to travel for supplier visits, business meetings, networking events, and business meals, including occasional engagements outside normal working hours, to foster and maintain strong business relationships.
